In and Around Grand Teton National Park
Historically, the reference of a “hole” defined the valley location a particular fur trapper would use. Davy Jackson called our valley area home and traders of his era referred to this valley as “Jackson’s Hole”. Today the reference has been simplified to “Jackson Hole”, but the colorful history and abundant valley provide guests with a location ideal for vacationing.
The National Park Service
Located in northwestern Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park preserves a spectacular landscape rich with majestic mountains, pristine lakes and extraordinary wildlife. The abrupt vertical rise of the jagged Teton Range contrasts with the horizontal sage-covered valley and glacial lakes at their base, creating world-renowned scenery that attracts nearly four million visitors per year.
Our website has an array of information from Directions to Operating Hours and Seasons. Please go to the NPS Website for more Park information.
The Jackson Hole Airport is the only commercial airport located within the boundries of a national park. The call sign is JAC. The next closest option is Idaho Falls, Idaho, which is about a 2.5 hour drive. The call sign is IDA.
